Synthegis®, Inc. attended the following events in 2010 in an ongoing effort to increase its outreach and involvement, drive business and increase awareness of the challenges of small business:

 

Mark Warner Procurement Conference – July 14, 2010

Synthegis, Inc. attended a recent conference for Virginia businesses seeking to learn more about applying for government contracts. The event was hosted by Senator Mark Warner. Procurement executives from the Department of Homeland Security and the Department of Defense provided insight into best practices and roadblocks.

 

Probiz 2010, May 18, 2010

May 18, 2010 – This full day conference located in Frederick, MD focused on winning proposals, handling cash flow and finding new ways to access business financing. Speakers included representatives from PNC Bank, Rod Johnson from Access National Bank, Keisha Smoot from the SBDC, Ben Simmons from the DC Procurement Technical Assistance Program (PTAP), Rudy Watley from the Smithsonian Institute and Tracey Pinson from the US Army.

 

GMU Business Roundtable Speaker Series, April 27, 2010

The GMU Business Roundtable Speaker Series was a panel discussion regarding:

  • new government contracts,
  • acquiring new talent during tight schedules,
  • implementing successful HR strategies; and
  • searching for the best candidate for the job.

 

The panel was moderated by Mr. Tom Moore from ROCS. Speakers included Mr. Jon Witt, Recruiting Manager from L3 Communications and Ms. Bridget Pulivarti from Helios HR.

 

10th Annual Federal Procurement Conference, March 9, 2010

The 10th Annual Federal Procurement Conference focused on topics including the following:

  • the regional economic outlook,
  • Updates from the Small Business Administration (SBA)
  • information regarding the DCAA Audit,
  • contracts with the Department of Homeland Security; and
  • a panel discussion on teaming and subcontracting.

 

The conference featured exhibits from multiple government, commercial and federal contractors. Speakers included Congressman Jim Moran, Mr. Alan Merten, President of George Mason, Lisa Sturtevant from the George Mason University Center for Regional Analysis, Peter Herman, CPA DCAA Technical Specialist, and Daniel Sturdivant, Deputy Director from the Office of Small and Disadvantaged Business Utilization.
